THE FULL STORY

"When I was growing up in Turkey, it was not uncommon to see rugs and tapestries, filled with vibrant colors and flare, wherever I went. To me, it was what was expected - to see these beautiful works of art every day. In America, this is not the case. Though America has its own art and beauty, the vibrancy of traditional Turkish tapestries are simply not a part of our lives.

In 1992, I decided to work towards changing that. I first began to sell rugs to tourists and travelers, sharing both our traditions in making the rugs by the tribal women as well as a love for the artistic designs embedded in the materials. I paid my tuition by selling rugs, and became a collector myself, as I fell in love with them. I quickly found that these rugs and the sharing of my own native history created great bridges for friendship and feelings of common good.

In 2000, I was invited to America with my rugs, and I used this opportunity to begin selling rugs outside of Turkey. I have sold rugs in Kentucky, Texas and Washington state, as well as Montana. Now, twenty-five years later, I call Kalispell my home, where I share with the beauty of my homeland with Montana. I opened a business here, while returning to Turkey every year to expand the selection I can offer to my friends in America. Please come visit me with your projects and sizes, and get your selection from me at wholesale prices.  Please check back often, as we are always adding new inventory.
